Range

Circumpolar; Southern Ocean n. in e. Pacific Ocean;
Breeds on is. between 46°S and 55°S including South Georgia, Marion, Prince Edward, Crozet, Kerguelen, Heard, Macquarie, Auckland, Campbell and Antipodes Is.
Disperses s. to the pack ice off Antarctica and n. to 33°S except off the w. coast of South America where it occurs further n. from Chile (Cape Horn, Tierra del Fuego) to Peru n. to 20°S in the Humboldt Current and s. Argentina (Bahia de Yendegaia, the Beagle Channel), e. South Australia and w. Victoria off Portland, s. Tasmania, New Zealand (s. North Island in the Wellington Harbor and Cook Strait and South Island).
