C. Mexico through Central America to the Andes of n. and w. South America;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) E. Mexico (Tamaulipas).
(2) C. and s. Mexico (Nayarit, Jalisco, Hidalgo, Mexico, San Luis Potosi) and Belize (Guanacaste National Park) to w. Panama.
(3) N. and ne. Venezuela.
(4) E. Panama, Colombia and Upper Amazonia in e. Ecuador, e. Peru, w. Bolivia to nw. Argentina (Jujuy).
(5) W. Ecuador (El Oro and w. Loja) and nw. Peru (Huancabamba and bend in the Rio Maranon).
