Andes of sc. South America;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Se. Peru (Puno) and cw. Bolivia (La Paz).
(2) Sw. Bolivia (Cochabamba and Potosi). Birds from s. Bolivia (Chuquisaca, Tarija) are tentatively assigned to this race.
(3) Nc. Argentina (Tucuman, Catamarca and La Rioja).
(4) Wc. Argentina (Sierra de Cordoba, w. Cordoba).
(5) C. Argentina (Sierra de San Luis).
