Range

C. Central America to nw. South America and Andes of w. South America;
Three populations;
(1) Gulf-Caribbean slope of se. Mexico (Tabasco and Oaxaca) to Honduras.
(2) Caribbean slope of Nicaragua, both slopes of Costa Rica and w. Panama.
(3) C. and e. Panama.
(4) W. Colombia and w. Ecuador.
(5) C. Colombia.
(6) Se. Colombia, sw. Venezuela and e. Ecuador.
(7) An isolated population in c. and se. Peru and c. Bolivia.
