Sw. Pacific Ocean in the vicinity of Chatham Is.;
Ex. restricted range;
Breeds only on Rangatira (South East) Is. se. of Chatham Is. Formerly nested on other is. in the Chatham group including Chatham and Mangere Is.
Dispersal range is unknown. Observed almost exclusively in the vicinity of the Chatham Is. with one report ca. 120km to the se.
