Range

Circumpolar; Southern Ocean between 33°S. and 67°S.;
Nests on subantarctic is. in the s. Atlantic and s. Indian Oceans including Tristan da Cunha (?), Gough, Marion, Prince Edward, Crozet, Kerguelen Is.
Disperses to South Africa (Cape of Good Hope and Natal coasts), Australia (Western Australia n. to Fremantle, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and se Queensland), Tasmania, New Zealand (North and South Islands), e. Brazil (Bahia), Chile(?) and Argentina(?) (Tierra del Fuego). In the s. Pacific Ocean, it is sometimes seen near 60°S e. from 145°W.
