S. Ontario and from se. South Dakota, n. Iowa, se. Minnesota, s. Wisconsin, s. Michigan, ne. Pennsylvania, s. New York and c. New England s. to c. and s. Texas, the Gulf coast and c. Florida.
Winters s. in s. Central America from the Caribbean slope of Nicaragua s. along both slopes to nw. South America from nw. Venezuela and n. Colombia to w. Ecuador (Mindo-Nambillo Forest).
