Ne. to c. South America;
One main population with small populations along e. slope of Andes;
(1) Se. Venezuela (se. Bolivar) and n. Amazonian Brazil.
(2) Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam and Guiana, n., c., and e. Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)) s. to Sao Paulo. Isolated small populations in se. Colombia (Caqueta, Vaupes), se. Peru (Cuzco and Madre de Dios) and ex. w. Bolivia (La Paz and perhaps ne. Santa Cruz).
