Range

Sw. United States through Central America;
Breeds from se. Arizona through Mexico (e. Sonora, w. Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas s. along both slopes including the Yucatan Peninsula) to c. Costa Rica.
Winters s. in the Andes through Colombia, e. Ecuador, Peru to c. Bolivia.
