Range

E. tropical South America;
(1) Breeds in c. and e. Bolivia, c. and s. Brazil (Mato Grosso e. to Espirito Santo and s. to Rio Grande do Sul) Paraguay, w. Uruguay, and Argentina in La Pampa s. at least to Tucuman, Santa Fe, and Entre Rios.
S. population migrate n. into range of (1) and nw. as far as w. Colombia, ex. E. Ecuador and e. Peru.
(2) S. Colombia, s. Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, n. and e. Amazonian Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)).
