Amazonian to se. tropical South America;
(1) Breeds in n. and e. Bolivia s. from Beni, wc. And s. Brazil (s. Mato Grosso e. to w. Minas Gerais and s. Mato Grosso do Sul, ex. w. Parana, Santa Catarina and w. Rio Grande do Sul), Paraguay w. of the Rio Paraguay, Uruguay, n. and c. Argentina s. to Mendoza, La Pampa, n. Rio Negro and Buenos Aries.
Migrates n. into Amazonia in s. Colombia, s. Venezuela, s. Guyana, sw. Surinam, interior of w. Brazil, ex. e. Ecuador, and e. Peru.
(2) Ec. Brazil in e. Para e. to Maranhao and Piaui and s. to Goias.
