Central America s. to se. tropical South America;
Four populations;
(1) S. Mexico (s. Veracruz, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Quintana Roo) s. along the Caribbean slope of Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
(2) Coiba Is.
(3) N. Colombia.
(4) W. and s. Venezuela, s. Guyana, Surinam, Guiana and ex. ne. Brazil.
(5) N. and w. Amazonian Brazil, e. Ecuador, e. Peru and e. Bolivia.
(6) Se. Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)), e. Bolivia, e. Paraguay and n. Argentina.
