Range

Cw. Pacific Ocean;
Breeding area largely unknown, but probably in the coastal deserts of Peru (Paracos Peninsula) and n. Chile (Mejillones Bay). Forages in the Humboldt Current from ca. 15°N to 26°S.
Disperses s. to Valparaiso (33°S), Chile and n. to Ecuador, the Galapagos Is., Colombia (Narino) and the Cocos and Clipperton Is. far off the Pacific coast of w. Mexico (Clipperton Is.) and Central America.
