Range

Nc. w. Pacific Ocean;
Breeds on is. off the Pacific coast of the sw. United States (s. California, Channel Is. off Santa Barbara and Sutil Is.) and Baja, Mexico (Los Coronados and San Benito Is. in the Pacific and Consag Rock, San Luis and Partida Is. in the n. Gulf of California).
Disperses n. to Monterey Bay and Point Reyes, c. California and s. to at least 8°S off the w. coast of Mexico (Sonora, Nayarit and Guerrero), Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica (Gulf of Nicoya and Gulf of Dulce), Panama, Colombia (Buenaventura Harbor), Ecuador to n. Peru.
