Range

Middle East to c. Asia;
Two main populations;
(1) E. and se. Turkey, Near East, Transcaucasia, n. Iraq, and n. Iran.
Winters in ne. Africa and w. Arabia.
(2) Ne. Iran, n. Afghanistan, s. Russia, Kazakhstan (Aral Sea region), and Turkestan to w. China (n. Xinjiang).
Winters from Arabia to Pakistan and nw. India.
(3) C. and s. Turkey, w. Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq.
Winters in w. Arabia and Eritrea.
