Mediterranean basin in n. Spain, s. France, Italy, Sicily, the Balkans, and n. Turkey e. to s. Russia, n. Caspian Sea region, Transcaucasus and n. Iran.
Winter in India and sub-Saharan Africa.
(2) Mountains of e. Kazakhstan, Turkestan, and nw. China (Tarbagatay and Dzungharskiy Alatau) s. to the Tien Shan, and e. Afghanistan.
