Range

Se. Pacific Ocean and sw. Atlantic off the s. tip of South America;
Breeds in s. Chile from Chiloe Is. and Valdivia s. to Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn (near Puerto Toro on Navarino Is., the Cape Horn Archipelago and Cape Austin, Deceit Is.) and s. Argentina on Staten Is.
Disperses n. in the winter as far as the waters off Puerto Deseado, ne. Santa Cruz, Argentina in s. Patagonia and Falkland Is.
