Fragmented distribution;
Four mainland populations;
(1) S. Mexico along the Gulf-Caribbean slope of s. Veracruz, e. Oaxaca, Tabasco, e. Chiapas), Guatemala (Peten, arid internal valleys, and nw. Pacific slope), Belize, Honduras (arid interior and Pacific lowlands), and El Salvador.
(2) Se. Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula, Mujeres Islands and Holbox Is.) and Belize.
(3) West Indies, Lesser Antilles from Guadeloupe, Desirade and Antigua s. to Martinique and the Windward Is.
(4) Trinidad and Tobago.
(5) N. Venezuela Is.
(6) St. Andrews Is. In the w. Caribbean.
(7) W. and c. Colombia. Population of this race in the Pacific lowlands of El Salvador s. to Panama is derived largely from escaped caged birds from Colombia.
(8) N. and e. Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and ex. n. Brazil.
(9) Surinam and Guiana.
(10) Coastal e. Brazil (e. Bahia).
