Temperate sc. and se. South America;
Fragmented, poorly known distribution in the n. part of its range;
Three populations;
Uruguay, n. and c. Argentina. Locally in Chile (Santiago, Cautin, Valdivia). W. Bolivia. W. Paraguay.
Winters n. in s. Brazil, Paraguay, n. and e. Bolivia.
