Range
W. Europe to e. Asia;
(1) N. and e. Europe from Scandinavia e. to nw. Russia e. at least to the Pechora River and Ural Mountains and s. from c. and e. Germant to the Black Sea.
Winters in the Balkans (Bulgaria) to the n. Mediterranean region including Sardinia, Sicily, Yugoslavia, s. to Asia Minor, Arabia, n. and e. Africa (Somalia).
(2) W. and s. Europe from British Isles, s. Sweden, Denmark to the Pyrenees of e. Spain, and France w. to Germany, and s. Poland, Balkans (Romania) and nw. Turkey.
Winters in Mediterranean region sporadically n. to e. Ireland, c. England, and the Netherlands, w. to the Canary Is., nw. Africa e. to Middle East.
(3) E. of the Ural Mountains in Siberia from Yenisey River and Pechora River to the Kolyma River possibly the Anadyr River, and s. to nw. Black Sea, n. Kazakhstan, Altai, Lake Baikal, nw. China, and nw. Mongolia.
Winters s. to s. Iraq, s. Iran and Arabia e. to India and Bangladesh.
(4) Highlands of nw. and n. Turkey.
(5) Caucasus and Transcaucasus s. to nw. and n. Iran.
(6) ne. Iran and Turkmenia.
