Himalayas and se. Asia;
Highly fragmented distribution;
(1) E. Himalayas from Nepal, ne. India (West Bengal e. to Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya s. to s. Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland) e. to n. Burma, and possibly se. China (se. Yunnan).
(2) S. Vietnam (s. Annam).
(3) C. and se. China (Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Fujian and possibly se. Yunnan).
Winters in s. China and Burma to Malaya, Laos and s. Vietnam.
