Mongolia and ne. China (nw. Heilungkiang (n. Manchuria)) and s. to c. and s. France, n. Italy, the Balkan Peninsula, Turkey to w. and s. Iran, Caucasus Mountains, and n. Turkestan.
Winters in n. and c. Africa, n. India, and s. Asia.
(2) C. Asian deserts from the lower Volga to n. Turkestan, e. Kazakhstan (Lake Zaysan), w. Altai, to w. and s. Mongolia. .
Winters in n. India.
