Baltic coast of n. Europe c. Asia;
S. Finland e. across nw. and c. Russia to c. Siberia e. to upper Tunguska River, Vilyuy River, and Lake Baikal region, nw. Mongolia s. to s. Russia, Azerbaijan, e. Iran, n. Afghanistan, and se. Siberia in the Altai.
Winters in India and Sri Lanka, Burma, and ne. Africa.
