Sahel zone of w. to e. Africa;
Two widely separated populations;
(1) Senegambia, s. Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, and Guinea.
(2) Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, s. Niger, n. Nigeria, and c. Cameroon.
(3) S. Chad, n. Central African Republic, se. Sudan and sw. Ethiopia.
