Range

Cw. to ec. Africa;
Three populations;
(1) N. of equatorial forest zone from c. Cameroon (Mt. Kupe, Mt. Oku s. to Mt. Cameroon and Yaounde area), s. Chad, Central African Republic, c. and s. Sudan, lower regions of Ethiopia, Eritrea, and nw. Somalia s. to e. Zaire, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, w. Kenya, and nw. Tanzania.
(2) S. of equatorial forest zone from s. Gabon, s. Congo, s. Zaire (lower Congo River, kasai) and n. Angola.
(3) S. Somalia.
(4) Coastal areas of e. Kenya (isolated population on Mt. Endau), and Tanzania extending inland to n. Pare Mountains, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Kilosa, and Manda Is.
