Range

N. and e. Australia and New Guinea;
Three populations;
(1) Coastal n. Australia from ne. Western Australia (Derby), n. Northern Territory and n. Queensland (Karumba) to ne. Cape York Peninsula.
(2) Coastal e. Australia from ce. Queensland (Bundaberg) to the Hunter River and c. New South Wales (Newcastle area).
(3) New Guinea from Geelvink Bay s. and e. to Port Moresby.
