E. Pacific Ocean;
Breeds in the Clipperton Is. and Revillagigedo Is. off w. Mexico, Malpelo Is. off w. Colombia and the Galapagos Is. (Espanola (Hood) Is., Wenman Is., Genovesa (Tower) Is. and Daphne Is. Culpepper Is.(?)). and La Plata Is. off Ecuador.
Disperses in coastal Pacific waters from nw. Mexico (1/3 of the way up the Baja Peninsula to Alijos Rocks and off Colima to Chiapas and to a lesser extent in the Gulf of California) and off w. Guatemala, nw. El Salvador, Panama, nw. Colombia, Ecuador to nw. Peru.
