Range

Sw. Canada, w. United States and nw. Mexico;
Breeds from se. Alaska (Hazy Is. near the Coronation Is. and a recently established colony on Seal Rocks at the Hinchinbrook Entrance to Prince William Sound), w. Canada (British Columbia on small is. off the w. coast of Vancouver Is.), w. coast of the United States (Farallon Is.) and Mexico (is. off the Baja including San Geronimo, Asuncion, Natividad, Gull Rocks and San Cristobal Bay and is. in the Gulf of California including San Pedro Martir Is., Salsipuedes and Roca Blanca near Isla Partida).
Winters along Pacific coast from s. Alaska to s. Baja, the Gulf of California off Sonora and as far as s. as Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Formerly bred on Coronado Is. and Guadalupe Is.
