Range
Palearctic and Nearctic;
(1) Islands in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Is. w. to Attu, w. and n. Alaska, Canada including Arctic islands, and n. United States (ne. Minnesota, n. Wisconsin, n. Michigan, n. New York, n. New England). Isolated population in the Alppalachians (e. Tennessee, w. North Carolina, w. Virginia and nw. Georgia). Coasts of Greenland.
(2) Wc. United States along the e. edge of the Rocky Mountains to w. Oklahoma and c. Texas s. to Mexico (Baja and the c. highlands), Revillagigedo Is. s. to Nicaragua.
(3) Iceland and the Faroe Is.
(4) Europe from Arctic coasts s. to Mediterranean region, and w. Asia.
(5) Se. Europe (Turkey), Near East, and Middle East to Pakistan, and w. India.
(6) N. Africa from Morocco to Egypt. Canary Is.
(7) C. Asia (w. China), Himalayas (n. India, s. Tibet).
(8) Ne. Asia (se. Siberia, Sakhalin Is., Kuril Is.) and n. Japan.
