Range

(1) Coastal s. Iran and w. Pakistan (Baluchistan) to nw. India, Himalayas.
(2) India.
(3) Sri Lanka.
(4) Laccadive Is. and Maldive Is.
(5) S. Tibet, sw. China (Yunnan), Burma, and c. Thailand.
Introduced to Zanzibar Is., Djibouti, Egypt, n. Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Arabia, Mauritius, and Malaya.
Breeding populations have been established at least in Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen, Kenya, South Africa (small populations in Cape Flats and Durban), the Seyclelles, and Mascarene Is.
