Range

Ne. Indian Ocean, Java Sea and South China Sea;
The only known breeding site is on Christmas Is. in the ne. Indian Ocean. May breed on Anambas Is. off e. Malay Peninsula, but evidence is lacking.
Disperses widely throughout Indonesia n. to the coasts of Sumatra, Java, Bali and nw. Borneo (Brunei) into the Andaman Sea, off peninsular sw. Thailand and Burma, Malaya into the Straits of Malacca and e. to the s. South China Sea and Timor.
