(1) Breeds on is. in the w. Indian Ocean including Europa, Aldabra, Tromelin, Seychelles and Cargados Carajos Is.
(2) Breeds on is. in the e. Indian Ocean and sw. Pacific Ocean including the Cocos-Keeling, Christmas, Hainan, Paracel, Gunungapi Archipelago, Manuk Is. in the Banda Sea, s. China Sea and Coral Sea is. s. to ne. Australia (Queensland, Raine Is.) and New Caledonia.
(3) Breeds on is. in the w. and c. Pacific Ocean including the Cook, Tonga, Marshall, Fiji, Palau (Fanna, Helen Is.), Oeno, French Polynesia (Marquesas and Society), Tuamotu, Kiribati, Hawaiian Is. (the nw. chain from Kure to Nihoa and Moku Manu Islet off Oahu), Phoenix and Pitcairn Is.
(4) Breeds on is. in the e. Pacific Ocean including the Revillagigedo Is. (San Benedito, Clarion Is.) off Baja, Mexico, the Cocos Is. off Costa Rica, the Galapagos Is. and Sala-y-Gomez off Easter Is.
(5) Breeds on is. in the s. Atlantic Ocean off Brazil including Trinidade and Martin Vaz Rocks.
Disperses to coasts of ex. s. Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, e. South Africa, n. and w. Madagascar, sw. India (Kerala), Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Sulawesi, Moluccas, Malaya, Thailand, Annam, Philippines, Taiwan, s. China, Japan, New Guinea, n. Australia (Timor Sea, Point Cloates, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Gulf of Carpentaria to s. Queensland (Cape York Peninsula, Iron Range National Park along the coast at Portland Roads, outer Great Barrier Reef is. such as Michaelmas Cay off Cairns, Lady Elliot Is. off Bundaberg and Fraser Is.) and is. along the Great Barrier Reef) and New Zealand, the Austral, Cook, Ducie, Henderson, Samoa and Tonga Is., w. Mexico and Brazil.
