(1) Ne. and c. Europe in w. and n. Scandinavia (Norway, n. Sweden, n. Finland) and w. Russia (Kola Peninsula).
Winter in s. Europe.
(2) Shetland Is., Hebrides, Orkneys, Ireland, Scotland, and n. England.
(3) E. Turkey, Caucasus and nw. Iran.
(4) S. Ural Mountains to Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan, Kirghiz steppes to Lake Balkhash and Tien Shan Mountains. C. and e. Afghanistan.
(5) C. Russia (Altai Muountains) to nw. Mongolia.
(6) Kyrgyzstan (Altai Mountains) to Pamir Mountains, and nw. China (w. Sinkiang).
(7) W. China (e. Sinkiang, Qinghai, and Kansu) to se. Tibet.
(8) Himalayas of Pakistan, n. India (n. Kashmir), n. Nepal, and sw. Tibet.
