S. Central America to se. c. South America;
(1) E. and s. Brazil (Maranhao, Piaui, Bahia (Chapada Diamantina) to se. Mato Grosso and Rio Grande do Sul) , ex. n. Uruguay (Artigas, Salto del Estero), Paraguay, c. and se. Bolivia to Argentina s. to Entre Rios, Santa Fe and Santiago del Estero.
(2) Caribbean slope of Mexico (once in Chiapas), e. Honduras (once in Segovia, Coco River), Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama on the Pacific slope from Darien to Colombia and ex. nw. Ecuador and e. of the Andes in Colombia, n. Venezuela, Trinidad (Nariva and Caroni Swamps), Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, e. Ecuador, e. Peru, ne. Bolivia, Amazonian and e. Brazil (Bahia) to c. Mato Grosso.
