Range

C. Central America; N. to se. c. South America;
Two populations;
(1) E. Mexico (coastal s. Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, n. Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo), Belize, Guatemala and El Salvador.
(2) S. Nicaragua, Costa Rica (Guanacaste, Cartago), Colombia (Patia and Cauca Valleys), ex. nw. Ecuador, Venezuela (Merida, Aragua, Guarico, se. Bolivar), Trinidad (Caroni Swamp and Nariva Swamp), Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, c. and e. Brazil (Pernambuco and Bahia to Mato Grosso and Sao Paulo), Paraguay, Uruguay and n. Argentina (s. to Cordoba and n. Buenos Aires).
