Sw. Australia; Se. Australia; New Caledonia; New Zealand;
Fragmented distribution;
E. Australia from se. Queensland (Fraser Is.), New South Wales (Deniliquin which is only place to find this species reliably, Avalon Road, Cronulla Swamp near Sidney, and the reedbeds on the s. end of Lake George where the stream flows into the lake, but beware of Tiger Snakes and feral cattle), Victoria and se. South Australia (Bool Lagoon) and coastal s. Western Australia from Perth and Esperance to Moora), Kangaroo Is., Tasmania, New Zealand (North and South Island), New Caledonia (absent from the main is.(?)) and Uvea at the n. end of the Loyalty Is. chain.
