Oriental region;
Fragmented distribution;
C. and s. India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Burma, c. and peninsular Thailand, s. China (Chungking in s. Szechwan, Yunnan, Kwangsi, Hainan, Kiangsi), Laos, Cambodia (w. Siem Pang Province), n. and s. Vietnam (Cat Tien National Park), Malaya (Kuala Gulu), Sumatra, Java (coastal areas), Bali, Borneo (the only known breeding colony is in sw. Sarawak on the Sadong River), Brunei (Kimanis Bay, Kampong and Semporna), Bangga and Belitung.
