N. to c. South America;
E. Colombia (Arauca to Meta), c. Venezuela (Orinoco River Basin), Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, Amazonian Brazil (Ilanos region only) s. to s. Amazonas, n. Mato Grosso and Sao Paulo, e. Peru (banks of Tambopata River, Madre de Dios, Puno), n., e. and se. Bolivia (Beni, Santa Cruz and Tarija on the Rio Yacuma, Laguna Beni and Laguna Pando), Paraguay and n. Argentina in Salta and Jujuy (w. Rio Bermejo).
