Range

N. e. Asia;
N. and c. Siberia from the Yenisei River and Angara River n. to river deltas along the arctic coast e. to w. Anadyrland (Kolima River Delta), n. Kamchatka Peninsula and n. Sakhalin Is., then s. to the n. shore of Lake Baikal and the Sea of Okhotsk.
Winters in South Korea and coastal lowlands of s. Japan from c. Honshu s., s. and e. China from Kiangsu s. to Kwangtung, Kwangsi, se. Yunnan and Hainan Is., Burma and India. Migrates through ne. China (Manchuria and Hopeh) and Korea (March-April and October-November). Fall migration routes not well known, but differs from those used in the spring;

Winter, spring and fall: a rare vagrant to w. ALK in the w. Aleutians (Attu) and the Pribilofs. Much less frequent further s.
