Range

Se. United States to ex. ne Mexico;
Two populations;
(1) s. Florida n. to Alachua County, Tampa.
(2) Coastal w. Louisiana from the Mississippi Delta, perhaps ranging e. to s. Mississippi and s. Alabama, to e. Texas and inland to ne. Texas s. to ex. ne. Mexico (Tamaulipas, Tampico lagoons) with some dispersal as far as c. Veracruz, San Luis Potosi.
Winters inland to s. Nuevo Leon, s. Veracruz and possibly Tabasco. Vagrants have occurred in se. Colorado, w. Kansas, Oklahoma, w. and ne. Texas.
