W. Europe to c. Asia;
Europe from the s. British Isles, s. and ne. Scandinavia e. across nw. and c. Russia to sw. Siberia (upper Ob River and upper Irtysh River) and s. in n. Mediterranean basin (Corsica), n. and w. Turkey and n. Iran to Transcaucasus.
Migrant at Hortobagy National Park, Hungary, Zubiya Wildlife Reserve, Jerash, Jordan.
Winters in s. Europe to Iran and e. and s. Africa (Kenyan highlands e. of Rift Valley and along coast).
