E. to s. Africa;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Highlands of w. and c. Ethiopia and Eritrea.
(2) Locally from c. Zaire, Rwanda, Uganda, se. Sudan to e. Kenya (w. and c. highlands, Arusha National Park), Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Malawi, w. Mozambique, Zimbabwe e. and s. South Africa (Transvaal, Natal, Losotho and s. Cape Province).
