Sw. Mauritania, Senegambia, s. Mali, Burkina Faso, s. Niger, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, s. Chad, c. and s. Sudan, Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Migrates s. to Sierra Leone, s. Cameroon, ne. Zaire, Uganda, nw. Somalia (September-October), Kenya (Taru Desert and coastal lowlands in January-March), n. and c. Tanzania.
