Nc. Africa; Middle East; Arabian Peninsula; E. and s. Africa;
One main population and three small, isolated populations;
Niger, s. Chad and w. Sudan. Ne. Egypt (Sinai), Israel and Jordan (Wadi Rum). Se. Arabian Peninsula. Ethiopia to Somalia with main range from s. Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, n. Somalia s. in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, se. Zaire, Zambia, s. Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe to s. South Africa (Cape Province).
