Indian subcontinent; C. Himalayas to se. Asia; Greater Sundas; S. Philippines;
Two mainland populations and fragmented island populations;
(1) India s. of Rajastan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihr and Orissa and the Gangetic Plain.
(2) Sri Lanka.
(3) N. India from Garhwal to Assam and Nepal through Burma and Thailand, Cambodia and s. Vietnam to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra including Mentawai Is., Riau Archipelago, Bangka, and Belitung, Java, Bali, Borneo and the w. and sw. Philippines (Lubang, Calamian Is., Palawan, Mindoro and Mindanao).
(4) Andaman Is.
(5) Simalur Is.
