Ex. s. Russia (lower Volga River and Ural River) and Kazakhstan to the Kirghiz steppes, sw. Siberia (Tuva and sw. Transbaicalia), Mongolia, n. and c. China (Sinkiang, Tsinghai and Kansu to w. Heilungkiang and s. to Szechwan and n. Yunnan) s. to India and Burma.
Winters s. to Persian Gulf, Iraq (formerly), Iran, Afghanistan, c. India, Burma and Indochina.
