Range

N. India to se. Asia;
Terai of s. Nepal and n. India w. at least to Uttar Pradesh s. to s. West Bengal and e. to Assam, n. and c. Bangladesh and probably still occurs in Burma.
Recent records from Cambodia (n. plains in Chhep District in Preah Vihear Province), Laos and s. Vietnam (Cochinchina and s. Annam).
Probably extirpated from Thailand and Malaysia.
