(1) Sw. Mauritania, Senegambia, s. Mali, Burkina Faso, s. and nw. Niger (Air Massif), Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, s. Chad, c. and s. Sudan, Egypt, s. Uganda, Kenya (breeds at Mt. Nyiru, Mt. Marsabit, Ololokwe and Hell's Gate), Rwanda and n. Tanzania.
(2) Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, nw. Somalia and possibly s. Arabia.
