Range

W. and s. Africa;
Central African Republic and Congo, Zaire, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, w. and sc. Kenya (c. highlands), Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa (Transvaal). An isolated population seems to occur in Namibia.
Ranges to s. Ethiopia, Somalia and se. Angola.
