W. and c. Africa;
S. Nigeria, s. Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Rio Muni, Gabon, Congo to w. Zaire (Zaire River Basin) e. to Uganda. An isolated population also may be present in Upper Guinea forests of the Ivory Coast and w. Nigeria.
